Saturday, and Night

This is as boho/romantic as I get. It’s not generally my thing, but I mix it up sometimes. Today we did a little shopping, went out to lunch and took the kids to a soda/coffee shop.

Dress by Jen’s Pirate Booty, a couple years old from Bluebird Boutique. Miz Mooz shoes, also from a few years ago and MZ Wallace Baby Jane handbag in ruby.

We were in the neighborhood of my favorite boutique, Stephanie’s, so much to the kids’ chagrin, we stopped in. I tried this outfit on, but did not end up buying any of the items. I am still thinking about that hat though. I would like to be a hat person, but I seem to only wear hats to the beach. Not a lot of those in Minnesota. Dress had mesh detail and a cutout on the back. I thought it was super cute, but decided on a different black dress, also by Red Haute, instead.  Necklace is by Tess + Tricia, made from antler tips that deer have shed.

Stephanie’s has their summer progressive sale starting on Monday. Tons of items in the store are buy 1, get 20% off, buy 2, get 30% off, and buy 3, get 40% off.

Later, it was time for date night. We checked out the Brewer’s Table at the new Surly compound in Minneapolis. I say compound because it’s enormous! Tons of space, inside and out. There were probably 1,000 people there. It was nuts. The Brewer’s Table is their finer dining restaurant, and we thought it was awesome. Big flavors, beautiful presentation.

Dress is Nicole Miller, from Stephanie’s, similar here. (Yes, there is a theme here. I love that place. I also love Nicole Miller, so you’ll see that a lot too. I own at least 4 dresses in slightly different styles, but all similar to this, by Nicole Miller. SO comfortable and easy to wear, but make me feel great.) Picked up the Gigi magenta clutch this afternoon at you-know-where. 50% off! I’m kind of obsessed with that color right now.

Oh, I almost forgot. The makeup today is by Laura at WarPaint International. They have a membership service where, for an annual fee, an artist will come to your house (or wherever you want in the metro) to do your makeup twice a month. It is a bit of an indulgence, but we go to so many charity events each month, it’s great for me. This month was slow for events, so I just had my makeup done in the morning in anticipation of date night.
